Property compliance and management experts Velway Limited are responsible for approximately 300 properties, including care homes, medical centres, retail parks, software campuses and large commercial developments, including multi-tenanted office blocks. Velway operate nationally from their HQ near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. They summarise their business as: “We deliver all elements of property management, specialising in a total facilities management solution to all types of clients across any property sector, managing all works including reactive, planned and compliance across all service streams.”

How Nant work with Velway

MD Robin Harris: “Nant provide all the water hygiene services across the full portfolio of properties we manage and are included in any tender or submissions we enter. Their ethos is aligned with ours and they fully embrace the mutually dependable service partnerships we enter with all our bona-fide subcontractors. “I knew the Nant team from partnering in previous roles, specifically when I was working for companies managing properties in the care sector. Our working relationship has built from there and they have become our ‘go to’ consultants for all water safety management. “When we started Velway in 2019 our very first work order was placed through Nant. We went on to work with them across our first large portfolio of approximately 43 care homes.”

How Nant innovate in their Velway work

Robin: “We use the L8 remote monitoring where it fits best. It is valuable with care homes and medical centres especially during Covid as it reduced the need for visits. “During the pandemic Nant tackled the operational challenges with us, ensuring their work was compliant. Covid was a massive challenge to us as the legionella threat remained despite Covid-19 restricting free movement. “For our care sector clients we needed all engineers to be double jabbed and risk assessments needed to be constantly reviewed in line with ever changing legalisation for the control of Covid-19, which Nant were great on. They had the same business continuity issues we had so we worked well together. “We maintained an average of 99% delivery across all compliance tasks throughout the portfolio during the pandemic, covering properties from Devon up to the North East of England.”
