The team at Nant Ltd made the news when they were featured on a BBC News report about the steps being taken by employers to attract new staff.
Technical Director Richard Deakin and Plumbing Service Engineer Richard Berrill appeared on leading regional news TV show Midlands Today to discuss the ways Nant is recruiting employees as part of its growth plans.
Richard Berrill was filmed on location at a care home and interviewed about his appointment to the company a year ago, which he explained was motivated by wanting to get his life balance right.
He said: “I was working in emergency reactive work so you could be working through the night and weekends. Having two little kids I was missing the weekends with them.”
With a host of vacancies on offer Nant has increased benefits and salaries to attract new talent.
Richard Deakin explains: “Prior to the pandemic we had a pool of people ready to come and take a job. Throughout the pandemic we’ve grown and we’ve seen that pool reduce.”
