Nant Technical Director Richard Deakin together with his wife Sharon, have faced their fears and raised £1,095 after completing a 10,000ft skydive for Dementia UK.
The husband-and-wife team took off from Whitchurch Airfield on Saturday 10th September where they free fell from a height of 10,000ft and speeds up to 125mph.
Richard Deakin said:
“It was an experience we will never forget. Nerve wracking, exhilarating and a huge amount of pride to have conquered one of my biggest fears for such a worthwhile cause.
“Our aim was to raise £800 for Dementia UK and we surpassed that, raising £1,095 as of Monday. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us with their generous donations.
“Dementia UK is not only Nant’s charity of the year but a cause that has special significance to my wife, Sharon and I, after Sharon’s father passed away following a dementia diagnosis.”
Richard and Sharon’s skydive comes after a series of fundraising events from the Nant team including a 100k dog walk and half marathon. Their fundraising total for the year so far stands at £2,662.
