Leading water safety services provider Nant delivered a free webinar on water safety to the care services sector on behalf of the National Association for Safety and Health in Care Services (NASHiCS) this month.
Nant Client Development Officer Simon Love presented the webinar on 10 January to 34 delegates from the care industry, including health & safety representatives from care home groups, housing associations and charities.
The 30-minute session provided delegates with an overview of key water safety management responsibilities and the main risks associated with water systems, including legionella and scalding. Guidance was offered on how to manage risks and comply with regulations.
Simon commented: “As water safety specialists, our aim at Nant is to do everything in our power to keep people safe.
“Water systems always come with dangers, and it’s important that people know how to manage them to avoid causing serious illness, especially in the care sector where there are a lot of vulnerable people.
“The webinar was an excellent opportunity to share our knowledge of water safety and raise awareness of water system risks in the care industry.”
The event received some excellent survey feedback, with all respondents saying that they found the webinar useful.
Simon added: “We received positive comments on how valuable and clear the information was, and it was great to see attendees interested in Nant’s remote monitoring systems and the health & safety training we offer.”
