This week marks Dementia Action Week (15-21 May), a weeklong campaign to raise awareness of dementia and improve the lives of people affected by the disease.
As a key provider of water safety services, operating in a large number of care homes across the UK, Nant has been a supporter of dementia related good causes for many years.
To build on this great work, Nant colleagues have taken part in Dementia Friends information sessions.
An initiative established by the Alzheimer’s Society and delivered by Dementia Friends ambassadors, the sessions are friendly and interactive sessions, encouraging people to learn more about dementia, how it affects a person and what you can do to help people affected by dementia in your community.
The Dementia Friends information sessions provided Nant colleagues with valuable information when speaking to care homes and working on site.
As a leading player in the care home sector it is important for the business to equip colleagues with the knowledge and understanding of this illness.
In the last 12 months Nant has raised £2,722 for Dementia UK through sponsored walks, half marathons and sky dives, and the business is proud to continue this work through educating colleagues.
A big thank you to Dementia Friends and Remy Lloyd at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre who helped to organise the sessions.
