By implementing an innovative tech remote monitoring system, Nant have revolutionised client site management for care home clients.
Nant Ltd, whose customers include large national care home groups along with well-known UK-wide restaurant brands and hotel chains, have continued to invest in L8 Remote to meet demand for the service, which was originally put in place during the pandemic.
After restructuring the team delivering L8, which is present at client sites located in the Highlands of Scotland through to Cornwall, Nant is continuing to increase the number of sites and units using the system.
Nant were honoured for the impact of our technology when we won the tech and innovation award at the 2022 Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards.
Forced to restrict in-person visits to customer premises due to social distancing restrictions during the pandemic, especially for care home clients battling to limit infections, Nant began to roll out L8 digital systems.
Site owners were still required to meet legal standards to prevent legionella and other water safety risks, while for care home owners and other facilities managers, in-person visits were challenging.
Having previously explored digital solutions, Nant fast-tracked the implementation of remote monitors to cut the number of in-person visits and provide clients with real-time simple and accurate water management information.
Having recruited new staff to use the system for completing surveys, measurements and sampling, Nant are placing the focus more upon taking corrective actions to reduce or eliminate safety risks.
Technical Director Richard Deakin said the L8 remote monitoring had added value around managing costs and helping Nant to work effectively.
He said: “The introduction of L8 remote monitors has revolutionised the way Nant works. Some monitors were installed before the pandemic but lockdown forced us to reduce visits so we could focus on engineering work.
“Clients liked the access to live data as we are now managing 3000 units across 700 properties nationwide, providing clients with 24-hour information.
“So far L8 has removed the requirement for monthly in-person visits, cut emergency call-outs and allowed staff to conduct more skilled tasks while significantly reducing the miles and carbon emissions created by the vehicles.”
