Calcout™ by Nant – a salt-free alternative to water softening

Technological breakthroughs have finally made a salt-free alternative to water softening systems available to all. The Calcout™ water conditioning system provides all the benefits of a water softener with none of the disadvantages.

Calcout™ requires virtually no maintenance, no backwashing, no salt, and no electricity. This makes it vastly superior to water softeners in regard to both the environment and our clients’ finances. The lack of salt used in treating the water also makes it an excellent choice for any water system where health concerns are paramount (such as care homes or nurseries).

It works like this: the device uses Nucleation Assisted Crystallisation (NAC) to attract hardness minerals and convert them into harmless microscopic crystals that do not stick to, block, or corrode heat exchangers and other critical components. This protects boilers and water heaters, downstream pipes and circulation pumps, and maintains optimum performance across your entire heating system.
