Businesses looking to shine through successful award entries benefitted from advice from Nant at an expert writing workshop.
Simon Love, Client Development Officer, spoke to the audience on the importance of awards for marketing and networking during a session delivered by PR experts Osborn Communications on behalf of Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
Simon represented Nant after they won the Chamber’s tech and innovation prize last year for their work on remote monitoring on water safety.
Simon said: “A lot of businesses have imposter syndrome but you should go for it and enter as it is fantastic recognition and offers opportunities to network to generate new business opportunities.
“Being named as a finalist is a chance to be recognised as successful. People take notice if they see you shortlisted or win an award, it generates interest on your website and social media, plus you can meet decision makers from businesses at awards events when barriers to introductions drop.”
The one-hour workshop, delivered to a hybrid audience attending in person at the City of Wolverhampton College’s Wellington Road campus in Bilston and joining online via video call, shared practical tips and advice for companies looking to make an impact.
Chris Leggett, director at Osborn, which has helped clients achieve 21 award wins from 104 finalist placings in the last two years, gave a series of tips on how firms can make their entries stand out from the crowd.
The event, held on Tuesday (July 4), was launched to help businesses considering entering the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, which will welcome more than 500 attendees on Thursday 9 November 2023 at Wolverhampton Racecourse.
