Adam Dolphin Completes First Year of Degree Apprenticeship

Adam Dolphin

We’re pleased to share that Adam Dolphin has successfully completed Year 1 of his Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Degree Apprenticeship, specialising in Software Engineering, achieving a distinction.

Balancing full-time responsibilities within the business alongside university study is a significant commitment, and this result reflects Adam’s hard work, capability, and focus over the past year.

The programme is designed to apply learning directly within the workplace, and throughout his first year, Adam has strengthened his understanding of system architecture, data integrity, risk considerations, and long-term technology planning. This development is already supporting more structured thinking around our technology direction and sustainable system design at Nant.

Richard commented: “Adam’s development this year has been great to see. He’s approached his apprenticeship with the right attitude and a real willingness to learn. His progression reflects the impact he’s making. He’s delivering day-to-day while starting to take more ownership of his time and priorities.

Adam represents what we’re aiming for, developing people who can grow into leadership roles and strengthen our tech capability.”

Carl added: “Adam’s first year has been outstanding. He’s quickly established himself as a high performer, and his progression is well deserved. What’s most exciting is how he’s starting to think beyond his role, taking ownership and helping shape how we use technology across the business. That’s exactly the kind of mindset we’re building at Nant.

Our focus now is supporting Adam to grow into a Technology Leader who builds capability around him. Investing in people like Adam is key to how we scale.”

Adam shared his reflections on his first year and what he is looking forward to as he continues his studies “The first year of the apprenticeship has been a strong foundation, particularly alongside my role as Technology Lead. It’s given me the opportunity to step back and strengthen my understanding across key areas like data, systems, and software, while continuing to manage and improve the day-to-day technology within the business.

A big part of the year has been refining how I approach problems, thinking more logically and in a structured way. This has been important when making decisions that impact the wider business. Being able to apply what I’m learning directly into real scenarios has made it much more practical, especially when identifying gaps and opportunities within our current systems.

Going into the next year, I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my software engineering skills and using that to take a more active role in shaping and building systems that better support the business as it grows.”

As the apprenticeship continues over the next two years, Adam will further develop his focus on enterprise-level engineering and technical leadership.

We look forward to supporting Adam’s continued progression and the impact his development will have as the business grows.
